LEARNER PROFILE

As a Lakeside learner I will develop the following qualities:

Leadership:  I have a vision that I want to share.  I will take the initiative and create ways for people to contribute in order to make extraordinary things happen.

Perseverance: I can, I want to, and I will continue.  I will make mistakes and learn from them. I am resilient.  I will not give up.

Confidence: I am secure, self assured and self-reliant.  I am courageous.  I am eager to experience new challenges.  I continually reflect on my growth as a person.

Social Consciousness: I am a citizen of the world.  I will take responsibility and be accountable for my actions. I will be compassionate. I will collaborate. I will advocate. I will make a difference.

Critical Thinking: I question evidence, arguments and assumptions for validity.  I am aware of my own bias and beliefs.  I clarify goals and formulate solutions to problems.  I observe the world around me using logic and research to develop a deeper understanding.

Creativity: I will express myself freely.  I will explore.  I will turn new and imaginative ideas into reality.  I will think and produce and innovate.  I will be passionate and committed.  I will remove the limits that others set for me.  I will be true to myself and continually nurture a childlike wonder.

Independence: I will follow my own path.  I will formulate my own opinions based on evidence and reason.  I will question my own assumptions as well as the assumptions of others.  I will be free to change my mind.

Problem Solving: I will approach problems with resolve and purpose.  I will collaborate with others.  I will create and test a variety of solutions.  I will be open-minded.

Communicative:  I express myself confidently in a variety of ways.  I will be proficient in more than one language.  I will listen to others.
